Travel for art's sake.

Travel for art's sake.

I've always been one with a huge love for culture. & by culture I mean pretty much everything.
I love learning about religion, language and all the traditions of those who walk this very Earth with me.

I don't believe in living your life in a little corner where you're basically isolating yourself from everyone and everything.
I believe only the ignorant are the ones without a passion learning about everything we are not.

Everyday I find myself meeting people who are so into their own nationalist and patriot crap that they can't even see the beauty in other races surrounding them.
I honestly can't grip how somebody could want to live in this earth only having stayed in one country, having known one language and only socializing and mixing with "their own".
- It's so boring.
& I know I might sound a bit bias here because I am basically made up of all the races in the entire world. I am a melting pot in myself.  But SERIOUSLY. I don't get it.
There is so much to learn

Having said all of that,
I myself are one of those who hasn't been fortunate enough to leave my birth country yet. I've been trying to get the hell out of Melbourne for almost 2 years now but it was never really a possibility with still being in school and not having enough funds etc.

It only really hit me how over Melbourne I am right now. The environment, the atmosphere, but most importantly, the people. But i'll save all of that for another post.

BUT luckily that's all about to change in a couple of months.
In the middle of February in shaa Allah (god willing) I and a few family members will be going on a well needed vacation....OUTSIDE of Australia.

First stop is BALI, INDONESIA. I'm so excited. It's pretty much all I talk about and can think about. We'll be there for a week which will leave us enough time to do all the touristy things yet still have a bit of down time. The temples are probably what I'm most excited about. They look absolutely beautiful and there's so many of them as well.

After the week in Bali we will jet to KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA. I always hear the shopping is amazing there. So much cheaper than Australia (apparently). I can't wait to stock up on all of the makeup!
It's also a Muslim country..meaning if not most, everything will be Halal. Malaysian food is also so nice but to actually be there eating authentic Malaysian will be so good. We'll be there for a week also.

& don't worry, I'll be updating my blog most likely daily while i'm gone to let you all know what i'm up to,

Around a year ago I came across an Instagram account called 'worldlyseb'. Basically her names Seble Abebe and she's an Atlanta born and raised chick who travels pretty much everywhere. She's lived and has seen more than most have in their entire lifetime.

I stumbled across a quote called 'travel for art's sake'.. I absolutely love it. Hence why it's the title of this blog post lol.

I suggest anybody who's interested in travelling to check her page out also:

Along with her comes 'Funforlouis' aka Louis Cole. Another huge travel inspiration of mine.
He has a Youtube channel which I follow religiously which I also recommend you to check out.

Toxic. Friend.

Toxic environments. Toxic situations. Toxic relationships. Toxic "friends".

So much has changed over this past year & it's only now that I've really been able to sit down and think, comprehend and analyse all that has happened.

My character, my attitude my lifestyle...HECK, even my health and immune system was at its absolute lowest. & this is the girl who NEVER gets sick.

I've lost "friends", and I've gained "friends".
Why the inverted commas? Because I really don't know what a "friend" is right now. Is that words true meaning even valid anymore?

Because really, I don't think real "friends" contribute to you leaving your studies, coming home way past midnight and going far out of your comfort zone doing things you never once thought you would take part in (now you're thinking all types of crazy shit, but it's not terribly bad trust me, lol).

Doing the same things you used to put people down for became..you.
Became me.
I almost became the exact person I swore I would never be.

I truly never in my life have met people who genuinely strive off of causing issues for people. Who genuinely like causing chaos and drama around them until this year. Well, I always knew they existed, I just never thought they would be people that I would find myself associating with.

If i had a clear mind a couple months back like I do now, I would've switched up crowds at speeds of the click of a finger but because I was so wrapped up in everything my mind became so deluded even though the answer was right in front of me.

I even told myself a dozen times "this is your calling" "leave, leave, leave!". But something would always draw me back in.

Of course, I didn't want to hear it. I didn't want to be told that the people I was mixing with weren't for me, even though it was said to about a million times by a million people. But now I wish I had.

I came a across a quote not so long ago that said: 'Our generation loves bragging about being single, cutting people off, and not trusting anyone. Like that's an accomplishment.'

- That must be the biggest bullshit I've heard. Ever.

I DO think it's an accomplishment to cut people off. Why? Because it is an accomplishment to discover who is right for you and exactly who isn't.
It is an accomplishment to move forward in your life and get your shit together leaving behind all those who had partial responsibility in f*cking it up in the first place (I use the word 'partial' because the last thing I'm going to do is deny my fault in getting myself caught up in all off this).

& If I could give myself a round of a applause for getting out of it without looking like an absolute retard, trust me I would. But to save my sanity..I won't of course. Lol.

To anybody who feels like they are stuck. Trust me, you are not.
Now, I didn't say it was easy either. It's one of the hardest things you will do in life. But the rewards will show for the rest of your life.

Know your self worth. Know that you are better than the situation you are in and that you are better than those you got yourself involved in.
& always know that there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I take everything I've been through in life and will in future go though as a learning experience. I don't have regrets with anything. Everything happens for a reason and with everything you go through you come out a stronger and wiser person.

REVIEW: NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM

Recently I got into one of NYX's most recent and most popular lip collections. & of course i'm talking about the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams (pictured) so I thought I'd share my thoughts with you guys.

First off, let me just say how PIGMENTED these lip creams are. I've tried other lip creams/lip stains in the past but as far as pigment goes I'd have to say these are the best that I've experimented with thus far.

At first, I was a bit worried that some of the colours wouldn't show up on my lips as they would on women of a lighter complexion and as I also have fairly darker lips than some so because of this I was hesitant at buying certain particular shades..but boy was I wrong!

The colours come on flawlessly.
For women of a similar complexion to me however (NC35-NC40) I suggest you try out the following:
Abu Dhabi - The perfect nude or tan/beige skin.
Cannes - The perfect every natural pink lip for tan/beige skin.

& as I am a HUGE fan of statement lip colours I highly recommend Transylvania, Copenhagen and Addis Ababa.

- They compliment our skin tones beautifully.

The packaging is also super cute and I adore the matte feeling lids.

However, as for everything..I do have my cons.
You MUST moisturize your lips before you apply the NYX soft matte lip creams.
When I first tried these I hadn't and almost immediately my lips were feeling dried out and were starting to look a bit flaky. So if you're someone with extremely dry lips I wouldn't consider this line of lip stains for you as you could further dry out your lips by using them on the regular.

Other than that I LOVE these lip stains and look forward to making my collection even bigger! - I currently own Cannes and Prague (as pictured), Transylvania, Copenhagen, Addis Ababa, Monte Carlo, Abu Dhabi and Zurich.
